He resided there for 12 years and later returned to Ware, where he died. On his farm in Maine was later discovered the best mine of roofing slate to be found in the world. He died 17 Jun 1848; resided Monson and Ware, Massachusetts.

Marriage intentions were published, 11 Oct 1812, Walpole, MA, for him and Mary Willard. She was born 16 Jun 1790, and died 23 May 1860.
