Abraham5 Whitney (John4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of John4 and Sarah (Cutting) Whitney, was born 8 Aug 1716, Watertown, MA,[1] and died between 1796 and 1797, Framingham, MA.[2]
Marriage intentions for him and Tabitha Allen were published 17 Jun 1741, Watertown, MA. He married, 17 Jun 1742 or 20 Jan 1742/3, Weston, MA, Tabitha Allen "both of Weston", daughter of Joseph and Abigail (-----) Allen. She was born 26 Oct 1722, Watertown, MA. She was born circa 1731, calculated from age at death. She died 28 Jul 1821, Westminster, MA, aged 90 years. Tabitha Allen, c[hurch] m[ember] 1741, now w[ife] of Abr[aham] (Weston VR., p. 448).
He was admitted to the church in Weston, member 31 May 1741 (p.429, Weston VR), and resided in Weston in 1781.
Pierce says the following:[3]
- His father John4 was one of the original proprietors of Paris, Me., in 1735. Abraham was given this land in 1771.
Barry says the following:[4]
- Tradition supposes Eph. to have been son [actually, he was a nephew--RLW] of Abraham, a blacksmith, who had a br. John, and lived in the, S. part of the town, and was living, 1796; his widow is noticed, 1797. T. Rec.
