Amos8 Whitney (Ohio7, Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Ohio7 and Mary (Bolton) Whitney, was born 7 Jun 1817, Ashburnham, MA,[1] and died 20 Apr 1868, Ashburnham, MA.

He married, 7 May 1840, Ashburnham, MA, Harriett J. Bemis.[2] She was born 20 Aug 1819.

He was a carpenter. He resided Ashburnham, MA.

Children of Amos8 and Harriett J. (Bemis) Whitney:

i. Edwin A.9 Whitney, b. 29 May 1842; m. 3 May 1871, Kate R. Cummings; resided Newton, MA.
Ch.: Walter C., b. 10 Jun 1878. He is a wholesale jeweler.
ii. Waldo F. Whitney, b. 22 Apr 1844; m. Abbie Hale.
iii. Albert E. Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1847; m. Mary E. Lowe.
iv. Clara T. Whitney, b. 22 Jan 1850; m. 6 Jan 1886, Nathaniel Sarsfield; resided Ashburnham.
v. Wilmot A. Whitney, b. 30 Jan 1852; d. young.
