Capt. Silas7 Whitney (Silas6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Silas6 and Sarah (Withington) Whitney; born 1 Oct 1779, and died 4 Sep 1846, Ashburnham, MA, aged 66 years 11 months 5 days, of dysentery.[1]

He married, 31 Dec 1801, Ashburnham, MA, Hannah Cushing.[2] She was born 9 Jun 1783; died 5 Mar 1854.

He was a farmer on a part of the homestead for several years, and was an officer in the militia at an early age. He was lieutenant in 1803 and styled captain after 1805. He resided in Walpole, New Hampshire, from 1810 to 1815; he then returned to Ashburnham, where he died. He resided Ashburnham, MA.
