Jonathan5 Whitney (Benjamin4, Benjamin3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Benjamin4 and Margaret (Sanderson) Whitney, was born 25 Sep 1734, Framingham, MA,[1] and died 1800, Dalton, MA.[2]
He "of Framingham" married, 15 Jun 1758, Waltham, MA, Eunice Marshall "of Waltham". She was born 2 Oct 1736, Sherborn, MA, and died Sep 1800, Dalton, MA.
Pierce says the following:[3]
- He was a soldier at the battle of Bunker Hill from Hopkinton, Mass.

- 1790: not found. A possibility is 1790, Southwick, Hampshire Co., MA: Jonathan Whitney, 1 male over 16 and 2 females. He is on the same page as Benjamin Whitney, also otherwise unidentified, who might be his father.
- 1800, Southwick, Hampshire Co., MA: Jonathan Whitney, 1 male over 45 and 1 female over 45. This is surely the same man is in the 1790 census at Southwick.
