Samuel Whitney parentage unknown, was born about 1786, CT, or about 1791, MA, and died between 1860 and 1870.

Apparently he married firstly, before 1830, ----- -----, who is deduced from the death record of their daughter.

Marriage intentions were published 15 May 1837, Brimfield, MA, for him and "Mrs." Anna L. Amsden "of Petersham".^[1] He "Jr." married, apparently secondly, 13 Jun 1837, Petersham, MA, Anna Larned (Peckham) Amsden,^[2] daughter of Ellis and Mehitable (Learned) Peckham. She was born 4 Mar 1793, Petersham, MA,^[3] and died 17 Dec 1875, Petersham, MA, aged 82 years 9 months 12 daysm, of old age.^[4] She had married firstly, 7 Jul 1814, Petersham, MA,^[5] Daniel H. Amsden, who died 6 Jul 1821, Petersham, MA, aged 28 years.^[6]

Child of Samuel and ----- (-----) Whitney:

i.	(daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1830; d. 9 or 10 Nov 1838, aged 8 years; buried at Tolland, MA.[7]

Samuel and Anna Larned (Peckham)(Amsden) Whitney probably had no children.
