Jonathan5 Whitney (Benjamin4, Benjamin3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Benjamin4 and Margaret (Sanderson) Whitney, was born 25 Sep 1734, Framingham, MA,[1] and died 1800, Dalton, MA.[2]

He "of Framingham" married, 15 Jun 1758, Waltham, MA, Eunice Marshall "of Waltham".[3] She was born 2 Oct 1736, Sherborn, MA, and died Sep 1800, Dalton, MA.

Pierce says the following:[4]

He was a soldier at the battle of Bunker Hill from Hopkinton, Mass.

Children of Jonathan5 and Eunice (Marshall) Whitney:

i. Sarah Whitney6, b. 12 Jun 1759, Dalton, MA; m. circa 1784, Justus Hough.
ii. David Whitney, b. 3 Nov 1761, Dalton, MA; d. 19 Oct 1780 at NY; killed by Indians in the Battle of Stony Raba [i.e., Stone Arabia], on the Mohawk, while serving in Capt. Ely's company.
iii. Eunice Whitney, b. 16 Nov 1763, Dalton, MA; d. 1 Oct 1842; m.(1) ----- Marshall; m.(2) circa 1784 Gideon Root.
iv. Amos Whitney, b. 27 Sep 1764, Dalton, MA.
v. Esther Whitney, b. 13 Apr 1766, Dalton, MA; m. Cyrus Rockwood.
vi. Isaac Whitney, b. 26 Sep 1768, Dalton, MA; m. Caroline Harman.
vii. Persis Whitney, b. 20 Aug 1769, Dalton, MA; m. ----- Lasure. There could be some confusion, as her Aunt Persis m. Joseph Lesuer.
viii. Asaph Whitney, b. 21 Jun 1770, Dalton or Framingham, MA; bapt. 3 Nov 1776, Hopkinton, MA;[5] m. Bethiah Hopkins.
