From Burke's Landed Gentry:
"Charles Fox, Esq., eventually of "Fox Hall"
(refer poem about Robin Adair & Fox of Fox Hall)
as heir to his elder brother, m. Miss Whitney (niece of Robert Adair), dau of Col. Whitney, of Newpass, by his wife, Miss Boleyn, aunt to (Ralph Howard, Baron Clonmore of Clonmore Castle, co Carlow, Ireland), 1st Viscount Wicklow, and d. 1747 having had one son."

Newpass / Derrydown, Killucan, co. Westmeath, Ireland.
------------
Hugh Howard, b.1761, brother of the 3rd Earl of Wicklow, lived on a property in co. Wicklow in the early-mid 1800s which had been owned by John Lambert who was agent for Robert Adair, his father-in-law and neighbour on "Hollybrook". My g-g-grandfather went back to Ireland for this property as it was part of his inheritance. Hugh Howard's son, Sir Ralph Howard b. 1801 also lived on Bushy Park (now named Bushey Park).
Hugh Howard had a sister, Isabella Howard b.1791 who m. William Meade Smythe of Barbavilla, co. Westmeath, Ireland, and Deer Park, nr Honiton, Devon, England. I have wondered whether and Adairs married into this Meade family.

I have come across many references to the Upton family, but have not written down notes. Sorry

"Newpass House was built by the Whitney Family, who received a grant of the nearby town of Rathowen in 1684." - Newpass House, County Westmeath
5. Boleyn Whitney - This deed states that Boleyn Whitney gave a mortgage on Andrew Wilson’s property in 1719. Lyon’s ‘Grand Juries of Westmeath’ includes the following concerning Boleyn Whitney “the third son of Colonel Whitney; who adopted the law as his profession, and attained a seat on the Bench. He came on the Lent 1754 circuit in Westmeath (the year of this deed). He drew up and was a trustee of the will of Andrew Wilson of Piercefield made in 1724 who left his estates to support the establishment of Wilson Hospital”. Boleyn Whitney was probably an ancestor of Sir Benjamin Whitney who in 1860 married Annabella North-Bomford (27.6.2)
6. Rev Ambrose Upton, 1688-1752, married Anna, a daughter of Boleyn Whitney of New Pass, Co Westmeath, on the Co Longford border, which may be the New Pass mentioned in the Wilson lease of 1754 (7.9) to Henry Upton, the brother of Ambrose. Whitney’s brother was probably George Boleyn Whitney of New Pass. The latter’s daughter Elizabeth married, c1780, Sir Thomas Fetherston, 2nd Bart, and the Fetherstonhaugh-Whitney family were living at New Pass until the first Great War. - The Irish Bomfords 1617 to the Present, Chapter VII, The Cousins of Clounstown & Killeglan 1734 - 1759.
