William Reed7 Whitney (Asa6, Ebenezer5, David4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Asa6 and Catherine (Leggett) Whitney, was born 5 Oct 1799, Norwalk, CT, and died 16 Dec 1824, New York, NY.
He married, 15 May 1824, Ann Isabella Powell, daughter of Thomas Powell, af farmer, of Flushing, Long Island, NY. She was born 23 Mar 1804.
Phoenix says the following:
- . . . jeweller; . . . his place of business being then [1824] in Wall Street, near Broadway, New York City.
Children of William Reed7 and Ann Isabella (Powell) Whitney:
i. Maria Louisa8 Whitney, b. 8 Apr 1825 (posthumous); d. 17 Nov 1857; unmarried.
