Nathan5 Whitney (Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Benjamin4 and Mercy (Hinckley) Whitney, was born circa 1768, and died Sep 1849 (according to Pierce), but "Dea." died 23 Nov 1848, aged 77 years.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 25 Dec 1793, Lisbon, ME, or Topsham, ME, for him and his first wife Sarah Godfrey, both "of Little River".[2] Marriage intentions were published 25 Dec 1793, Topsham, ME, for him and his first wife Salley Godfrey, "both of Little River".[3] She was born say 1773 at probably Lisbon Falls, ME, and died 21 Mar 1827, Lisbon, ME, or 22 Mar 1827, Augusta, ME, aged 53 years.[4]

Marriage intentions were published 14 Jun 1828, Augusta, ME, for him and his second wife Fannie P. Shepherd "of Hallowell".[5] He married secondly, 29 Jun 1828, Hallowell, ME, Fannie P. Shephard.[6] She was born circa 1800, probably Hallowell, ME. She "Mrs." married secondly, 10 Mar 1850, Augusta, ME, Charles Booker.[7]

Pierce says the following:[8]
