He married firstly, 27 Nov 1836, North Adams, MA, Lucy E. Sprague, daughter of Joshua and Betsey (Cummings) Sprague. She was born 7 Apr 1816, Stratton, VT, and died 14 or 15 Mar 1873, Adams, MA.[2]
