He, of Hartford, CT, married firstly, 7 Nov 1865, Orange, MA, Hortense L. A. Johnson, daughter of Nathan L. and Olive (Atwood) Johnson.[2] She was born 12 Aug 1842, Orange, MA, and died 30 Dec 1866, North Orange, MA, aged 24 years 4 months 17 days, of consumption.[3] She was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT.[4]
