Royal7 Whitney (Ezra6, Ezra5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ezra6 and Sally (Hooker) Whitney, was born 11 Apr 1801, Rockingham, VT, and died after 1880.

He married, sometime before 1830, Mary Elsie Boeylan. She was born about 1811, NY, and died after 1880.

He moved with his parents and siblings from the family home in Vermont to Allegany County, NY, in 1817.

Royal's father Ezra had a first cousin named Uriel who was also listed in some records as Royal. This may be a clue as to Royal's real name. He also could have been named after his maternal uncle Reul or uncle Israel.
