I am descended from Ezra Whitney and his son Jacob Whitney would have been an uncle (with many greats in front of that). I don't think that this is the correct lineage for you. You can see his family at [[Family:Whitney, Jacob (1796-a1870)]]. Notice that he did not marry Polly Watts, and he did not have a son named Timothy.

Did your Timothy Whitney move to Hillsborough, NH by 1850 and have a wife Frances H.? If so, there is another Whitney family next door to them, with the head of that family being Samuel Whitney, b. ca. 1817, MA. This Samuel, if he was an elder brother of your Timothy, could be the clue to determining their parents.

Jacob, son of Ezra

Hello, and welcome to the WRG website.

I am descended from Ezra Whitney and his son Jacob Whitney would have been an uncle (with many greats in front of that). I don't think that this is the correct lineage for you. You can see his family at Family:Whitney, Jacob (1796-a1870). Notice that he did not marry Polly Watts, and he did not have a son named Timothy.

The other branch may be found at Family:Whitney, Richard (1743-1816).
