Emory Stewart8 Whitney (Nathaniel7, Nathaniel6, Samuel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Nathaniel7 and Sally (Stewart) Whitney, was born 28 Feb 1805, Marlboro, VT,[1] and died 21 Jun 1839, Marlboro, VT.

He married, 25 Oct 1827, or 25 Oct 1828, Marlboro, VT, Sarepta Hale,[2] of Brattleboro, daughter of Joseph and Betsey (-----) Hale. She was born 12 Oct 1804, Brattleboro, VT, and died 27 Apr 1878. She married secondly, 18 Sep 1842, Jacob White. He was born 7 Mar 1789. They had one child, Charles H. White, born 2 Oct 1845.

He resided Marlboro, VT.
