Welcome to the Whitney Research Group website! I found your family on the 1920 census residing in Fitchburg, Worcester Co., MA. I then checked on the 1891 U.K. Census and found one possible individual (this needs to be verified of course):

I was able to find quite a bit of information on your line!! It appears your line came to America about 1891 directly from Runcorn, Cheshire, England. The earliest location I have been able to trace your family is to John Whitney, born about 1814 in Hartford, Cheshire, England.
