Family:Whitney, John (1780-a1850)

John⁷ Whitney (Joshua⁶, Thomas⁵, William⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Joshua⁶ and Hannah (Green) Whitney, was born 31 Jun 1780 [sic], and died between 1850 and 1860.

He married, before 1806, Polly Bartle, daughter of John and Harriett (Duffy) Bartle. She was born about 1785, NY, and died after 1860.

With his wife he joined the Cong. Church in 1813. Resided Whitney's Point, NY.

vi.	(allegedly) Ira Whitney, b. 13 Oct 1810, Whitney's Point, NY. He is also claimed to be son of a different John and Polly Whitney couple, for which the evidence is circumstantial.
