David Dewane8 Whitney (George W.7, Asaph6, Jonathan5, Benjamin4, Benjamin3, Benjamin2, John1), son of George W.7 and Mary E. (Hutchins) Whitney, was born 22 Mar 1846, Galena, Jo Daviess County, IL, and died Nov. 8, 1916 at U.S. National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, CA; buried Sierra Madre Pioneer Cemetery, Sierra Madre, Los Angeles County, CA.
