John C. Whitney (Caleb B. Amaziah, Abner, John, Isaiah, Thomas, John), was born 07 09 1842, Maine Village, Broome Co., NY, and died 07 24 1863, Alto, Lee Co., IL.
John C. Whitney never married, and died of disease as a result of his service in Company B, 127th Regiment of Illinois Infantry in the Civil War. His mother, father, and his father's widow all applied for pension benefits as a result of his service and resulting death.
