James William "Holiday" Whitney (William Wort, Ephraim Bennett, etc.), son of William Wort and Sarah Caroline (Hipshire) Whitney,[1] was born 21 Sep 1894, Squaw Valley, CA,[2] and died 25 Aug 1958, Modesto, CA.[3]

He married firstly, about 1912, CA,[4] Inez Cooper, daughter of Robert A. and Roxanne "Roxie" Margaret (Cherry) Cooper. She was born 14 Feb 1897, CA, and died 1984, Sacramento, CA.

They lived in Washington, CA, and Santa Rosa, CA.

He married secondly, 1942, Sacramento, CA,[5] Vivian Blanche Palmer, daughter of James Bennum and Belle (Lawrence) Palmer. She was born 12 Oct 1911, The Dalles, OR, and died 28 Apr 2004, Modesto, CA.

They lived in Sacramento, CA, and Healdsburg, CA.

Children of James Willliam "Holiday" and Inez (Cooper) Whitney:

i. Paul Whitney, b. 1913; d. 2002; m. Jane Elizabeth Dobbins.
ii. William "Bill" W. Whitney, b. 6 Oct 1922; d. 26 Sep 1999; m. Enola Fay Searles.
