Simeon⁷ Whitney (Nathaniel⁶, Abel⁵, Naham⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Nathaniel⁶ and Zilpah (Martin) Whitney, was born 12 Apr 1799, Standish, ME,^[1], was baptized 5 Dec 1816, Standish, ME,^[2] and died 8 Sep 1873 [per Pierce], or 4 Dec 1884, Harrison, ME, aged 85 years, 8 months.^[3] He was buried in Center Cemetery, Harrison, ME.

Marriage intentions were published 10 Nov 1824, for him "of Hiram" and Joanna Shaw "of Standish".^[4] He "of Hiram" married, 2 Dec 1824, Standish, ME, Joanna Shaw "of Standish",^[5] daughter of Ebenezer and Salome (Green) Shaw. She was born 3 Oct 1803, Standish, ME, and died 4 Dec 1884 [per Pierce], or 8 Sep 1873, Harrison, ME, aged 73 years.^[6] She was buried in Center Cemetery, Harrison, ME.

He resided Standish and Harrison, ME.

Notes

Notice that Simeon is found in the 1880 census, widowed, while Joanna is not. A possible explanation is that their death dates were reversed by Pierce.
