Merrick⁸ Whitney (Samuel⁷, Silas⁶, Samuel⁵, William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Samuel⁷ and Abigail (Wilder) Whitney, was born 31 Dec 1804, Ashburnham, MA,^[1] and died 2 Dec 1881, Ashburnham, MA, aged 76 years 11 months 1 day, of paralysis.^[2]

He married, 6 Apr 1830, Ashburnham, MA, Harriett Adams,^[3] daughter of John and Dolly (-----) Adams. She was born 16 Feb 1809, Fitchburg, MA, and died 9 Apr 1877, Ashburnham, MA, aged 61 years 1 month 23 days, of paralysis.^[4]

He resided Ashburnham, MA. She was living in Fitchburg at death.
