He married firstly, 1 Jun 1885, Bingham, ME, Susie E. Bray, daughter of Charles P. and Emma F. (-----) Bray. She was born 1 May 1868, Pleasant Ridge, ME, and died 11 Apr 1889, Lowell, MA, aged 21 years 11 months, of phthisis.[2]
