Joseph H.7 Whitney (Stephen6, Stephen5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Stephen6 and Abigail (Mayberry) Whitney, was born 7 Apr 1832, Mechanic Falls, ME, and died 4 Jan 1897, New Haven, CT.

He married 6 Jul 1851, Hannah Caswell Montfort, daughter of Amos and Sarah (Field) Montfort. She was born 30 Mar 1831, Lisbon, ME, and died 7 Oct 1871, South Meriden, CT.
