Carlos7 Whitney (Aaron6, Benjamin5, Joseph4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), born Tunbridge, Vermont, 5 May 1831; married 28 Dec 1857, Helen M. Corwin; born 18 Jul 1837.
He was born on Whitney Hill, Tunbridge, where his father settled in the wilderness. In 1868 he moved to West Fairlee and engaged in the provision business, and there he died. He died 8 Nov 1884; resided West Fairlee, Vermont.
Children of Carlos7 Whitney:
i. Harlie Aaron8 Whitney, born 5 May 1859. He was born on the old Whitney place, on Whitney Hill, Tunbridge, Vermont. In 1868, with his parents, moved to west Fairlee and attended the village school. He attended Thetford academy, and later assisted his father in his business. Afterwards he went to Boston. Was married Jan. 11, 1881. ii. Elmer Frank Whitney, born 10 Jul 1865; died 9 Apr 1881. iii. Carrie Amanda Whitney, born 16 Sep 1862; resided West Fairlee, Vermont. She was educated at the public schools in West Fairlee and the Thetford academy. Later she went to the Vermont. Methodist seminary, at Montpelier, where she spent three years, and afterwards to Boston, to study music. A fall at school prevented the work which she had hoped to accomplish.
