Col. Asa Watrous7 Whitney (Milton6, Asa5, Joshua4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Milton6 and Lydia (Cleveland) Whitney was born 11 Jan 1810, Pittsfield, MA, and died 23 May 1868, Pittsfield, OH.

He married, Pittsfield, OH, 19 Feb 1838, Mary Ann Wightman. She was born 23 Mar 1818, and died 26 Apr 1891, Bellevue, OH.

Col. Asa Watrous Whitney, son of Milton Whitney, was a colonel in the Ohio Militia, and was called upon to name the town of Pittsfield, Lorain County, OH, when it was organized as a town; was elected town clerk and held that office for seven years; was later elected justice of the peace and held that office for six years.
