John5 Whitney (Joshua4, Joshua3, Benjamin2, John1) son of Joshua4 and Phebe (-----) Whitney,[1] was born 7 May 1749, Medway, MA,[2], baptized 7 Jul 1751, Medway, MA,[3] and died 21 Jan 1824, Pomfret, Chautauqua County, NY.[4]

Marriage intentions were published 5 Dec 1767, Medway, MA, for him and Molly Carey. "The Banns between John Whitney & Molly Carey is forbidden by his Master Garnsey & Mother".[5] He "a transient person, of Medway" married, 16 Feb 1768, Newton, MA, Molley Cary,[6] parentage unknown. She was born 25 Jul 1751,[7] and died after 3 Jan 1838, Erie County, PA.[8]
