Capt. Ami6 Whitney (Tarball5, Solomon4, David3, Joshua2, John1), was born 28 Jul 1793, Poultney, VT.

He married, 9 Nov 1815, Rachel Osgood. She was born 22 May 1797, Swanzey, NH, and died 4 May 1865, Almond, NY, s.p.

He served during the war, and at its close was captain in the New York state militia. Has held many offices in the gift of his townsmen; resided Almond, NY.

He received an award of $13 for his service in the New York state militia during the War of 1812. At the time, he was residing in Almond, Allegany Co., NY.[1]
