David5 Whitney (Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Matthias4 and Alice (Robbins) Whitney, was born 3 May 1764 Killingly, CT, and died in Augusta Township, Grenville County, Ontario, Canada in March 1830.

He married firstly, Olive Day abt 1789 in Killingly, Windham County, CT

He married secondly, Mary Glassford abt 1809 in Augusta Township, Grenville, On, Canada.

He resided in Killingly, Wiindham County, CT, Granville, Washington County, NY, Hartford, Washington County, NY, and Augusta Township, Grenville County, ON, Canada.

David Whitney moved from Granville, Washington County, NY prior to 1800. He is listed in the 1800 Census of Augusta Township, Grenville County, Ontario, Canada as follows:
