Abel6 Whitney (Elijah5, Elijah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Elijah5 and Lydia (McElwain) Whitney, was born 15 Feb 1778, Putney, VT, and died 26 Sep 1857, Williamstown, VT, aged 79 years 7 months 11 days, of dropsy.
He married, 5 Jun 1804, Williamstown, VT, Phebe Hopkins. She was born 16 Mar 1785, and died 1872.
Children of Abel6 and Phebe (Hopkins) Whitney, possibly incomplete:
i. Lucinda Whitney, b. 8 Apr 1806, Williamstown, VT. ii. James Madison Whitney, b. 12 Jan 1811, Williamstown, VT. iii. Elvera Whitney, b. 9 May 1813, Williamstown, VT. iv. Joel W.
