Charles Mayo Whitney was born Oct 23, 1833 in Wayland, MA.[1] He was the son of Jacob and Sally (Pratt) Whitney[2]. He died 17 Mar 1900, Vancouver, British Columbia.[3]
He married Laura Acenath Maxfield,[4] 1859 or 1860.[5]
Laura was born 16 Sep 1836, Chester, VT.[6] She died 22 Dec 1893,[7] New Westminster, British Columbia.
They lived in Troy for several years, while Charles was working as a lawyer.
By 1880 he is living in Saint Louis, where he is listed variously as a lawyer and an editor.[8]
By 1890, we find Charles and his son, Charles Francis, both living near Vancouver, British Columbia. Charles M. started a newspaper there, and apparently started going by the name "Mayo" (his middle name)
He died 17 Mar 1900, Vancouver, BC.[9]

i. Charles Francis Whitney, born c. 1871 in St. Louis, MO and died Apr 1931 in Miami, FL.
