George Quimby8 Whitney (Aaron7, Aaron6, Levi5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Aaron7 and Rebecca (Perkins) Whitney, was born 22 Apr 1843, and died after 1880.
He married, 27 Oct 1870, Isabelle Gaylord. She was born 14 Feb 1851, and died after 1880.
George Q. went to Hartford when he was twelve years of age and has lived there since. He is a machinist by trade, and is employed by the Pratt & Whitney Company. He served in the late war; was slightly wounded at the battle of Antietam, and was later taken a prisoner of war, and remained about eight months in the Andersonville prison. He was discharged a short time before the close of the war; resided Hartford, CT, s.p.
