Jonathan5 Whitney (James4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James4 and Eleanor (Robbins) Whitney was born 15 Aug 1745 at Dunstable, MA[1] and died 1834[2].

Jonathan married Abigail Hemminway 7 May 1772 at Fitzwilliam, NH; husband "of Jaffrey, N.H;".

His father's estate was probated 4 Jul 1757 at Dunstable, MA; Thomas Harwood of Dunstable, N.H., innholder, was appointed guardian of John, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Lucy, all minors under 14, children of James Whitney, late of Dunstable, deceased, and posted bond with William Angier of Cambridge as surety; estate was probated 23 Oct 1760 at Dunstable, MA; petition of John and Jonathan Whitney, choosing Thomas Harwood of Dunstable as their guardian; estate was probated 5 Mar 1764 at Dunstable, MA; Thomas Harwood of Dunstable, N.H., innholder, was appointed guardian of John and Jonathan Whitney, over 14, sons of James Whitney late of Dunstable, deceased, and posted bond with William Angier of Cambridge, gentleman, as surety.

He and Abigail Hemminway data from Sue Perrault <[email protected]>. He lived between 1772 and 1805 at Fitzwilliam, NH. He lived between 1805 and 1834 at Hartland, VT.

Abigail Hemminway was born on 26 Apr 1749 at Framingham, MA.

Benjamin Whitney, b. 6 Apr 1781; b. 6 Aug 1781 at Fitzwilliam, NH; d. at NY; killed by a blast in eastern New York state; d. 8 Jul 1803 at Dedham, MA, at age 22; of Fitzwilliam [N.H.], "blowing rocks on turnpike;" d. before 16 Jul 1803 at Dedham, MA; "of Fitzwilliam, d. in Dedham, killed by an explosion (C.C. July 16, 1803);" d. before 21 Jul 1803 at Dedham, MA; "of Fitzwilliam, killed blowing up rocks on Turnpike near Dedham."
