Solomon⁵ Whitney (Solomon⁴, David³, Joshua², John¹), son of Solomon⁴ and Sarah (Roberts) Whitney, was born 15 Nov 1766, Canaan, CT, and died Sep 1854, Poultney, VT.

He married, Poultney, VT, Polly Marshall. She was born 17 Aug 1767, and died 23 Feb 1837, Poultney.

He was born at Canaan, CT, and soon after reaching his majority moved to Poultney, VT. There he married, purchased land and conducted a large farm until his death in 1854. He died Sep 1854; resided Poultney, VT.

v.	Solomon Whitney, b. 4 Jun 1793, Poultney, VT; m. Nancy Hurlbut.
vi.	Polly Whitney, b. 22 May 1796, Poultney, VT; m. in Poultney, VT, Caleb Butler. Soon after their marriage they moved to Waukegan, IL, where they resided.
