Matthias6 Whitney (Matthias5, Joshua4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), born Hancock, Massachusetts, 3 Oct 1794; married 23 Aug 1849, Rebecca B. Otis; born 3 Jun 1820. He was a farmer; was a soldier in the war of 1812. He died 19 Dec 1877; resided West Granville, New York.
Children of Matthias6 Whitney:
i. Sarah Davy7 Whitney, born 27 Feb 1852; married 18 Feb 1872, William Ward. She died 12 Oct 1891, leaving 4 ch.: Helen M., Willard, Otis Sardis, and Betsey Rebecca. Resided Ft. Ann, New York. ii. Mary Lawrence Whitney, born 3 Dec 1854; married 7 Sep 1876, James Race; resided W.G. - Ch.: Vernon Whitney, born 19 Sep 1877, Mary Lawrence, born 12 Sep 1880.
