My name is Arlene Whitney Durrett - parents: Allen Heatherly Whitney and Edith Myrtle Sparry; paternal grandparents: Elmer Oliver and Katherine Lavina (Allen) Whitney; paternal great-grandparents: William Oliver and Mary (Grandma May) Elizabeth Robinson. I have lived and cared for my mother for the past 10 months (she turned 100 last month) and this leaves me a certain amount of fee time, though not as much as one would think. Ruth Whitney Ryder, my aunt, was the genealogist for the Whitney side of the family and manage to infuse me with a certain interest(I resisted so it had to be osmosis!) and now a question by an 87-year-old Whitney cousin has sparked that interest again. I do hope I have some information that can help with our line. | |
