Ebenezer7 Whitney (Moses6, Ebenezer5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Moses6 and Esther (Sherwood) Whitney, was born 15 Jul 1802, Miramichi, NB, and died 20 Jul 1869, Dayton, MN.

He married, before 1830, Mary Miney or Curtis, daughter of Joseph Miney and Mary Curtis. She was born 29 Jan 1808, Liverpool, England (apparently illegitimately), was baptized 13 Mar 1808, St. Nicholas, Liverpool, England, and died 1 or 2 Oct 1891, Waupaca, WI.

i. Elisabeth Miney8 Whitney, b. 16 Feb 1830, Whitney, NB; d. Jun 1860, East Machias, ME;[1] however, she is also listed in the 1860 census. She attended school in Whitney from 1835-39.
ii. Lydia Smith Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1831, Whitney, NB; d. 29 Sep 1861, Lowell, MA, aged 30 years, of consumption.[2] By an unknown father, she had the following illegitimate child:
a. Byron K. Whitney, b. -- May 1856, Lowell, MA;[3] d. 1900-1910; m. ca. 1889, Emily D. -----, b. May 1858, OH, and died after 1910, when living in Oakland, CA.
iii. Stephen Sherwood Whitney, 9 Apr 1833, Whitney, NB; m. Minerva W. Gleason.
iv. Mary McMullen Whitney, b. 7 May 1835, Whitney, NB; d. May 1850, Calais, ME, aged 15 years, of typhus fever.[4]
v. Isabella F. Whitney, b. 7 Apr 1837, Whitney, NB; d. 23 Oct 1858.
vi. John L. Whitney, b. Aug 1839, Whitney, NB; d. after 1870, Waupaca, WI; carpenter.
vii. Sarah Esther Whitney, b. 20 Feb 1843, Hodgdon, ME; d. 1920; m. Alonzo Botsford.
viii. Oliver William Whitney, b. 8 Mar 1845, Hodgdon, ME; m. Mary E. Robinson.
ix. Jonathan Edwards Whitney, b. Dec 1846, Hodgdon, ME; m. Hanna Kelly.
