Whitney" did so.{{ref|1}}  One of the same name, possibly him, served in Company A, 14th U.S. Infantry.  He enlisted 31 Oct 1861, Thornton, NH, giving his age as 18.  Also "Ebin M. Whitney" served i in the 5th Regiment, U.S. Artillery.
