Milton Whitney was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where his children were all born. In 1830 he moved to Ohio, became a large land owner and prominent business man. He died Sep 4, 1839; resided Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Pittsfield, Ohio.
