Clarence Joshua8 Whitney (Samuel7, Samuel6, Joseph5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Samuel7 and Elsey (Evarts) Whitney; born Chesterfield, New York, 1 Nov 1834; married 31 Jul 1862, Sarah Elizabeth Colvin; born 1 Nov 1836. C. J. Whitney, professor and teacher, is a native of Essex County, New York, and was born 1 Nov 1834.
