Otis C.8 Whitney (Otis7, Solomon6, Solomon5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Otis7 and Sarah (Taylor) Whitney, was born 26 Sep 1801, Campton, NH, and died 11 Sep 1877, Boston, MA, aged 67 years, of heart disease, carpenter, son of Otis and Sarah, b. NH.[1]

He married, before 1836, Mary F. Derby, daughter of Loring and Eliza (Ditson) Derby. She was born about 1818, Cambridge, MA, and died 5 Nov 1871, Boston, MA, aged 43 years, of apoplexy.[2]
