Abel6 Whitney (Elijah5, Elijah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Elijah5 and Lydia (McElwain) Whitney, was born 15 Feb 1778, Putney, VT,[1] and died 26 Sep 1857, Williamstown, VT, aged 79 years 7 months 11 days, of dropsy.
He married, 5 Jun 1804, Williamstown, VT, Phebe Hopkins,[2] daughter of James and Mary (Presby) Hopkins. She was born 16 Mar 1785, and died 1872.
