Washburn Whiting Whitney (Lemuel) son of Lemuel and Anna (Woods) Whitney, was born 11 Nov 1820, Athol, MA,[1] and died 12 Jan 1892, Barre or Gardner, MA, aged 71 years 2 months 1 day, of influenza and pneumonia.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 8 Apr 1843, Warwick, MA[3] for him "of Orange" and Emily H. Johnson "of Warwick". He "of Orange" married, 25 Apr 1843, Warwick, MA, Emily H. Johnson "of Warwick",[4] daughter of D[aniel] and Bethiah (-----) Johnson. She was born about 1823, Warwick, MA, and died 6 Aug 1868, Athol, MA, aged 46 years.[5]

i. Lousana Whitney, b. 10 Jul 1844, Warwick, MA;[6] not in family in 1850 or 1860.
ii. Sarah S. Whitney, b. ca. 1847, VT.
