Notes

This project [the search for the ancestry of Frank Willis Whitney] was inspired in the year 2006 by my year-long conversation with Mrs. Phyllis Sommer. She was an inspired octogenarian genealogist who had in her possession the bible of Frank Willis Whitney and Irene J. Butler. We spent the year trying to discover the identity of Frank Willis Whitney, to no avail. Phyllis passed away on 30 Oct 2013, age 90. I’m sure she would be amused by the irony of discovering Frank’s parents and grandparents, but still not being able to link them to the family. -- Ken Whitney. [Link to the family now found! -- Robert Ward.]
