Vashni7 Whitney (Daniel6, Micah5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Daniel6 and Eunice (Marsh) Whitney, was born 3 Jun 1788, Chesterfield, NH,[1] and died after 1860.
Private Vashni Whitney is listed in Capt. Camp's Co., Art'y, New York Vols. in the War of 1812.
He married, before 1850, Sarah Spencer, daughter of Rufus and Elanor (-----) Spencer. She was born 1786, Schuyler, Herkimer Co., NY, died 12 Dec 1853, Adams, Jefferson Co., NY and is buried in Brookside Cemetery.[2]
Children of Vashni7 and Sarah (Spencer) Whitney, speculative, and possibly incomplete.
i. (poss.) Mary Ellinore8 Whitney, b. ca. 1818, NY; d. 4 Jul 1851, Adams, NY; m. Hubbard McKee.

- 1840, Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., NY: Virgil Whitney, 1 male 50-59, 1 female 50-59 and 1 female 10-15. Probably recorded incorrectly due to the unusal nature of the name "Vashni". A search of NY and surrounding states yields no unknownn Virgil Whitneys in either 1830 or 1850. Hounsfield is located between Rossie and Adams, NY.
