Henry Whitney (Henry, son of Henry and Anne (-----) Whitney, b. ca. 1538 (aged 53 in 1591).^[1]

He married Anne, possibly Anne Wylford, daughter of Robert and Joan (-----) Wylford.^[2]

He lived in Carshalton and Mitcham, Surrey.^[3]

1594, March 2. -- Henry Whitney was licensed to convey a messuage in Mitcham and Carshalton, in Currey, to William Travis.

1596, March 1. -- Henry Whitney was licensed to convey lands, in Mitcham and Carshalton, to George Smith.^[4]

Henry Whitney, bapt. 12 Oct 1566, St. Bartholomew, London; m. 21 Jun 1590, St. Botolph Bishopsgate, London, Anne Saunder.[5] License "1590, June 19 Henry Whitney, Jr., Gent. & Anne Sawnders, Spinster, of the City of London, dau. of Nicholas Sawnders, late of Ewell, co. Surrey, Esq., decd.; Gen. Lic."[6] She was daughter of Nicholas and Isabel (Carew) Saunders of Charlewood, Surrey. Children of Henry and Anne (Saunders) Whitney:[7] 1. iii.	Thomas Whitney, probably deduced from the will of a certain widow Anne Whitney of St. Andrew's Holborn, London, dated and proved in 1610, who mentions her second son Robert Whitney and third son Thomas Whitney. It is by no means certain that she was the above Anne, wife of Henry Whitney, so there may not be such a son in this family.
