James7 Whitney (Solomon6, Joseph5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Solomon6 and Phebe (Gilkey) Whitney, was born 7 May 1818,[1] Unity, ME,[2] and died 19 Dec 1890.

He "Mr." married firstly, (intentions 10 Aug 1846, Troy, ME), Adeline Hamilton,[3] daughter of William F. and Susan (-----) Hamilton of Unity. She was born about 1820, and died 13 May 1856, Troy, ME.[4] She is buried in Unity Pond Cemetery, Unity, ME.

Intentions of marriage were published 8 Nov 1856, Belfast, ME, for him "of Troy" and his second wife Margaret A. Florn/Floon/Floom.[5] He "Mr." married secondly, 20 Nov 1856, Troy, ME, Margaret A. Florn/Floon/Floom "of Belfast".[6] She was born about 1831, ME, and died before 1860.

He married thirdly, between 1857 and 1860, Mary E. Prentiss. She was born about 1831, ME, and died before 1870.

He married fourthly, between 1868 and 1870, Margaret A. -----. She was born about 1835, Searsport, ME, and died after 1880.

James was a farmer, residing in Troy, ME.
