Family:Whitney, Joseph D. (c1838-1901)

Joseph D.⁸ Whitney (James D.⁷, Daniel Hobbs⁶, Joshua⁵, Joshua⁴, Joshua³, Benjamin², John¹), son of James D.⁷ and Submit (Cutting) Whitney, was born about 1838, Boylston, MA, and died 24 Jul 1901, Shutesbury, MA, aged 66 years 15 days, of angina pectoris.^[1]

He married firstly, 17 Nov 1855, Sterling, MA, Laura A. Heywood, both of West Boylston, daughter of James and Anna (-----) Heywood.^[2] She was born about 1833, West Boylston, MA.

He married secondly, 19 Apr 1864, Pelham, MA, Clara/Clarissa L. Cutting, dau. of Joseph and Prudence (-----) Cutting.^[3] She was born 30 Oct 1844, Ware, MA, and died Dec 1910, Amherst, MA, aged 66 years 1 month 16 days, of organic heart disease.^[4] They were divorced.

iv.	Laura Amanda Whitney, b. 30 Mar 1868, Pelham, MA;[11] m. 10 Feb 1891, Amherst, MA [also recorded at Pelham, MA], William F. Page, b. ca. 1858, Brooklyn, NY, son of Benjamin F. and Bridget (Doyle) Page, as second wife.[12]
