Alonzo Howe⁸ Whitney (Jonas B.⁷, Jonas⁶, Samuel⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Jonas B.⁷ and Lovicey (Houghton) Whitney, was born 16 Apr 1816, Brattleboro, VT, and died 9 Oct 1871, Menard Co., IL. He was buried in Indian Point Cemetery, Athens, IL.^[1]

He married, 1 Dec 1836, Springfield, IL, Mary Ann Kincaid,^[2] daughter of Andrew and Ann Patterson (Caldwell) Kincaid. She was born 26 Jan 1818, Montgomery, KY, and died 14 Nov 1900. She was buried in Indian Point Cemetery, Athens, IL.^[3]
