Israel Rodgers7 Whitney (Israel Clawson6, Darling5, Daniel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Israel Clawson6 and Phebe (Whitman) Whitney, was born 7 Apr 1824, East Woods, now Woodbury, L.I., NY, and died 27 Feb 1848 [Phoenix] or Feb 1848,[1] Woodbury, L.I., NY, where he was buried in Fountain Hill Cemetery.
He married, Huntington, L.I., NY, Cynthia Jane Schenck, daughter of Cornelius Schenck, of Syosset, L.I., NY.
It is said he married Phebe -----, who is said to have died 3 Aug 1847, Woodbury, NY. "WHITNEY, Mrs. Phebe, [died] 3 Ag 1847 'wife of Israel R.', Woodbury", [NY].[2]
